King's Mill

Frequently Asked Questions

  Are you dog friendly?

We welcome up to 2 Well behaved dogs per pitch and similarly 2 well behaved dogs per cottage. The cost per dog is can be seen on our website. This must be applied at time of booking. It is of the upmost importance that your dogs are well behaved for the sake of other visitors and the dogs own well being. Although we only have 15 pitches it can be stressful for reactive dogs with all the comings and goings of the campsite. Please if you are in any doubt contact us for a chat. You are obviously responsible for picking up any accidents that happen on the pitch or in the gardens of the cottages. Your dog will love exploring the Meadow Walk and Woodland but must be on a lead at all times when out and about on the property. When on the pitch and on the patio areas of the cottages they need to be kept under control and not free wheeling! We have carefully planted saplings trying to grow and of course not everyone is a dog lover so unexpected visitors on other pitches and cottages may not be welcome.

Q How far away is your nearest beach?

Stunning Freshwater West beach is just 2 and a half miles away from King's Mill. It's an achievable walk or bike ride with just a few steep inclines and declines. The lanes can be slightly busier during the summer months but nothing to hectic!

A little further are:

Broadhaven south (6.2 miles - 15 mins in a car), Barafundle Bay (7.5 miles -16 mins in a car) and West Angle Beach (6.7 miles - 18 mins in a car)

Manorbier, Tenby, Saundersfoot are also wonderful beaches.

Most beaches in South Pembrokeshire are dog friendly - Tenby and Saundersfoot have restrictions during some summer months.

Q Are we able to park close to our pitch?
Absolutely! Each pitch has its own parking space right next to the pitch, making it easy to unload and load up. If you have to bring 2 vehicles check out the question below for more details. As vehicles are allowed to park on the pitches please note that it is FIRST GEAR ONLY when on the site and NEVER over 5mph to keep everyone safe.

Q Can we have visitors?

Day visitors are permitted if this has been agreed by us prior to them arriving. They must leave the site by 8pm. If you wish to invite people to stay overnight this also needs to be agreed and will incur an extra cost.

Q How far away is your nearest pub / restaurant?
The Speculation Inn (1.9 miles- 5 mins in a car) is our nearest pub. It's walkable but along a country lane that can be busy during the summer months and best to take a torch. For more information about great places to drink and dine see our 'Great Places to Eat and Drink Blog'.

Q Can we hire bikes?
Yes you can. Pembrokeshire Bike Hire will even drop them to King's Mill and pick them up again. Contact them for more information.

Q Can we book surf lessons?
Absolutely! This part of Pembrokeshire is truly suberb for surfing, coasteering and SUP sessions. Contact Blue Horizons or Outer Reef for more information.

Q Do I have to be a member of the Greener Camping Club to stay at King's Mill?

If you are staying on the campsite this is compulsory - however if you are staying in one of the cottages this is not necessary.

If camping here we require one person per family to have a current membership. This can easily be sorted out at time of booking. You will then receive an email that confirms your membership. You are then able to camp on any GCC site that season. Visit the Greener Camping Club for more details

Q Do you offer electric hook up on the pitches?
Yes we do. Electric hook-up is optional and there for you to choose at time of booking. It is £49.00 per week or £7.00 a night for mid week stays. This must be applied at time of booking

Q Can we bring an extra car?
Parking spaces are limited at Kings Mill but we can usually accommodate an extra vehicle. Please notify at time of booking. There is a surcharge for extra vehicles during peak season times (school holidays). This must be applied at time of booking.

Q Can we charge our electric vehicle at King's Mill?
Unfortunately not at the present time. There are places locally where you can do this. A useful site to check is Autotrader

Q What is the lastest time we can arrive?
If camping here we ask that you arrive no later than 8pm. Of course there may be reasons why you have to arrive later than expect but a courtesy call will be required in this instance. If you are staying in the cottages you will have been given a keycode and so you can arrive later but please bear in mind I may not be awake to help you if you have problems :)

Q Can we check in early?

Earliest check in is strictly at 3.30 pm for the campsite and 3pm for the cottages.
