Meadowsweet sits nestled in the grounds of King's Mill, a Grade II listed 18th century water mill located a stone's throw from the world famous Freshwater West Beach. A mill has been on the site since the 1500's.

Meadowsweet is perfect for 2 people sharing. However the cottage can accommodate 4 people - an extra bed can be arranged if a 3rd child is visiting.

Immediately as you step inside you will sense Meadowsweet's distinctive character and superb high end finish. The interior is adorned with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and stone floors with underfloor central heating. A spiral staircase leads you to the mezzanine level, where a cosy twin bedroom awaits, adding a touch of whimsy to your stay. The open plan solid oak kitchen has granite worktops that gives the area a real sense of quality and charm.

Meadowsweet's beautiful ground floor bedroom has a comfortable kingsize bed. There is drawer and hanging space to store clothes and a dressing table. The mezzanine level has 2 single beds and drawer space. Should you require an extra single bed just let us know and will make that happen!

Relax and unwind in Meadowsweet's elegant bathroom with walk in shower. Underfloor heating adds a welcome touch of luxury as you wash the sand from your toes!

The diner / living room is perfect for cosy evenings in. There is a smart TV, Wi-Fi and Alexa devices so that you can listen to your own choice of music. The living area leads out onto a shared lawned garden perfect for dining al fresco and taking in the fresh coastal air.To the front of the property Meadowsweet has its own patio area furnished with a delightful wrought iron dining set and a fire pit so you can relax and enjoy the meadow and the fields beyond...rain or shine, under the sun or bathed in moonlight.

Great Stay At Kings Mill Camping in Pembrokeshire
We recently returned from an excellent trip to Pembrokeshire staying at Kings Mill Camping. We travelled in a VW Ocean Campervan. Jo and Nick have created a great site, each pitch is large and effectively has its own private facilities. It was quickly evident that they have a real eye for attention to detail and are very welcoming. The shower was really hot. The composting toilet may take some people time to get accustomed to. The location was perfect. The South Pembrokeshire coast is stunning and and getting over the estuary towards Saint Davids and beyond was easy.We would stay at Kings Mill again without hesitation.

Absolutely fabulous site and hosts
We had a lovely time at Kings Mill, Jo and Nick were the perfect hosts.This site is immaculate, they’ve thought of everything and the little extras were a great addition, such as having freshly baked bread delivered to our pitch in the morning.Highly recommend, we will definitely be booking again next year.

Beautiful and relaxing
We had a lovely stay on Hazel pitch. Even though the weather was changeable being able to cook and sit undercover with an open fire meant the weather was not a problem.The site is beautifully kept and the owners are warm and welcoming offering great information on the area.We’re looking forward to coming back !!

By making a holiday booking you accept the following Terms & Conditions:

The Greener Camping Club

In order to comply with countryside planning policy, we operate as a Greener Camping Club members-only campsite. The Club was established by people with a passion for sustainable, eco-friendly camping holidays. When you book your holiday with us, you will be enrolled as a member of the Club. Membership costs just £12.00 for the calendar year and gives you access to some of the greenest campsites in the UK. It also includes participation in the Club’s ‘Trees for Life’ scheme, whereby a tree is planted for every member we enrol.

Payment

We request a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking a camping pitch. Receipt of the deposit secures your booking. Please note that the deposit includes full payment for your Greener Camping Club membership. (£12.00)The remaining balance will be automatically taken via STRIPE from the card used when the deposit was made- six weeks prior to your arrival date.For short lead-time bookings - ie. those booked less than six weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.

Cancellation by You

If you cancel your holiday six weeks or more before your arrival date and you made payment in full on time of booking we will refund 50% (i.e. the final balance, not the non-refundable deposit) less the £12.00 Greener Camping Club membership fee (which is not refundable).

If you cancel your holiday six weeks or more before your arrival date and only the deposit has been made we will cancel the auto payment so that the final balance will not be taken. The non-refundable deposit will not be returned.

Unfortunately, If you cancel your holiday any later than 6 weeks prior to arrival no refunds will be made.

* Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance.

Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel a camping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide safe camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. King's Mill Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.

The Castle Martin Range

Please ensure that you have been on our website and familiarised yourself with our location in regards to the Castlemartin Firing Range. This untouched and remote beautiful section of the coastline is an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is open to the public at specific times to enjoy. However is is a live firing range and our proximity means that we can be affected by noise at times and access to some parts of the coastal path can be restricted during certain hours. They DO NOT fire through the month of August or over the two weeks of the Christmas school holidays. They never fire on weekends and never on a bank holiday. For more information please refer to the 'Further Reading about King's Mill' section on our website. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.

Children & Adults Safety

There are many opportunities for play and adventure at King's Mill. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. But there are contingent risks to be aware of. We permit campfires, we have a couple of axes for making kindling and splitting firewood, there is a shallow stream bounding the land, there are horses, sheep and cows in the adjoining fields there are tractors and machinery around. We are also in the process of renovating some outbuildings and continue with the restoration of the Mill. These risks are small and should be self-evident - but if you are not clear, please ask! King's Mill accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.

Arrival & Departure Times

Arrival time is between 3.30pm and 8pm. Please call us if you think you may arrive later so that we can make suitable arrangements.

On departure day, please vacate your camping pitch by 10 am.

Cars & Campervans

The speed limit while on King's Mill Camping is 5 mph. There is a parking area by each pitch. Campervans and caravans are only permitted on certain pitches.

Consideration for Others

This is a peaceful and quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We allow radios played at low volume until 10.00pm. Acoustic instruments can be played before 10pm also. Very noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund.

If you are out for the night and arrive back later than 10 pm, please leave your car at the gate and walk back.

Recycling & Rubbish

All waste must always be separated and recycled where possible . That means separating glass, tins, plastic, paper, cardboard, food waste etc. and placing them in the designated bins. What is left, ie. only items that are not recyclable, can be placed in the landfill bin.

Campfires

Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy. King's Mill accepts no liability for injury or damage caused by your campfire. By lighting it you accept full responsibility for it. There may be times during extreme dry weather and high levels of combustable grass being present that campfires are not allowed.

Chemical Toilet Disposal

If you bring a portable toilet and wish to dispose of the contents in our disposal point (CDP), please ensure that the chemical used does not contain formaldehyde, chlorine, bleach or any other corrosive/toxic chemical (blue chemicals). We can supply (at cost) a green chemical that is 100% biodegradable and cesspool friendly.

Day Visitors

Day visitors are only permitted by prior agreement. Fees will apply if extra visitors not booked in stay over night.

Property Loss

King's Mill cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property.

Smokers

If you smoke then please please consider the environment and others. Use common sense and do not smoke around other people and be very careful when disposing of cigarette buts. If you are anyone is seen littering with cigarette buts or any litter for that matter they will be asked to leave immediately without refund. It is totally and utterly unacceptable.

Dog Policy

Up to 2 well behaved dogs are permitted. Please call to discuss if you would like to bring more than 2 dogs. If your dog does come to the site then they must be on a lead/under control at all times.

The Weather

This campsite can be subjected to harsh weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year. You must ensure that your tent is robust and pitched correctly. In somes cases we may ask you to move to another pitch. Please note, we do not provide a refund because the weather has not worked out, or is not to your liking. Extreme weather is covered in ‘Cancellations by Us’.

Additional Terms & Conditions

Gas

If you do bring your own gas cooker please use it in accordance with the instructions and never leave anything aflame if you are not in attendance.

Breakages & Damage

Should any damage or breakages occur, other than acceptable wear and tear, a charge for repairs or replacement will be made. We reserve the right to charge for excessive cleaning where shower or toilet has been left in an unacceptable condition, through waste, litter, interference in the structures.Guests will be held responsible for any fire, smoke or general damage, or alteration to the structures caused by negligence.

The woodland and Fort

Our Ancient woodland is protected and the Iron Age fort is a scheduled monument. There is strictly no camping on the Iron Age fort and strictly no metal detecting anywhere at King's Mill. If you wish to explore the woodland and Fort you do so at your own risk. The woodland walk is through the protected ancient woodland. Some areas are out of bounds especially the Mill and leat . Many things can cause injury. Branches fall, people can trip, ankles can be twisted and people fall off rope swings. On top of that woodland plants and mushrooms that should not be touched or eaten can make you very ill. Don't let this dampen your sense of adventure but by booking we accept no liability or responsibility for any injury or accident while in the woodland or while staying at King's Mill Camping. No entry to the woodland between 9.30 PMto 9.30 AM.
